Removal of Foreign Objects from the Eye & Eyelids

Foreign bodies can sometimes get into the eye and affect the cornea or conjunctiva. The cornea is a protective covering of the eye and the conjunctiva is the mucous membrane that covers the white part of the eye. These injuries can be minor to severe. Sharper materials can cause major injuries and it is important to immediately call your doctor. Wearing protective eyewear while sawing, mowing, edging, and other outdoor activities is an easy way to prevent debris from getting into your eye.
